ReelMotion Demo QuickStart.
* The instrument panel window contains a keyboard guide for all of the
various controls in ReelMotion.
* Select SImulation>Begin from the top menu (command-B) to start the
simulator. Press the Escape key to stop. You cannot quit out of Reelmotion
until you have pressed the Escape key to stop a simulation. Pressing
command-B begins the simulation again at your starting position.
* The mouse controls the steering and acceleration of the ground vehicles.
Move left to turn left and right to turn right. Move forward to accelerate
and back to brake.
* You can also use a parking brake to hold the vehicle on a hill or to
stop. Just press the "B" key on the keyboard. It toggles the brake on and
off.
* Press "R" on the keyboard to place most any vehicle in Reverse. Even a
jet or a motorcycle. The "R" key toggles reverse on and off.
* Press "P" to pause the simulation. It will flash in the instrument panel
when it is on. Press "P" again to resume.
* Press the F12 key to enter into camera mode. This will allow you to
position the camera in your scene. You do not have to be in camera mode to
change cameras. In other words, at any time during your simulation, you may
enter TV Track or Roam or External mode, simply by pressing the appropriate
function key (refer to the instrument panel). Press F12 again to return to
drive mode.
* To fly the airplane, do the following:
- Center the cursor in the simulator window (right on the crosshairs).
- Hit command-B to begin the simulation.
- Press the "S" key repeatedly to bring the throttle up (you
will see it move up in the instrument panel).
- Watch the speedometer (lower left) and when you see the needle go
above 200 knots, slowly pull the mouse back (cursor down) a
little bit and keep pulling back until the nose of your plane gently
lifts off the ground.
- If you are still having difficulty taking off without crashing, as soon
as the plane reaches 250 or 275 knots, hit the "Q" key to turn on the
autopilot. It will help you control the plane.
- Throttle up ("S" key) or down ("X key") as necessary to control the
speed of the aircraft.
- Just use the mouse to fly around. You will see how it controls the
plane.
* To import terrain, just select File>Add>DXF Terrain... from the top
menu and import a DXF terrain file. If it is not rotated properly, just use the
Transform button in the file dialog to rotate it to the desired orientation.
